PITTOGRAFIA VOCALE
VOCAL PICTOGRAPHY Friday, March29th 4PM
PRESENTATION:
The artistic and musical content of PITTOGRAFIA VOCALE (Vocal Pictography) proposes music to read, to listen to, and to see. Including interpretations of free word tables and ideographic scores (projects conceived as performative music scores that were created with visual, coded and verbal notation), this recital connects Italian Futurism with the aleatoric music of the late 20th and 21st-century classical music.
Ana Spasic, soprano and performer who has worked on sound interpretation of Marinetti's free word tables and other works by Italian Futurists, vocally interprets interdisciplinary tables of the modern age. She places them in correlation with the graphic scores of the Sixties, including traditional notation and ideograms, letters and drawings which require extraordinary figurative realization. Francesca Barbi Marinetti, art critic and niece of the inventor of this Italian artistic avant-garde, presents the various performances through firsthand experiences as one of his heirs. Some contemporary scripts of musical projects are conceived as interdisciplinary ideographic scores composed in memory of Daniele Lombardi.
